In the past few years LGBTQIA+ Texans have faced increasing restrictions on private decisions, private actions, and private spaces. Defending the freedom to love, think, feel, and act according to our own conscience is a fight that is bigger than the queer community and requires people from all walks of life to step up.

A federal judge has blocked new Title IX rules, including those aimed at protecting LGBTQ+ students from discrimination in K-12 schools, and sided with Republican attorneys general in several states — including Kentucky. 

This Pride Month, it is important to acknowledge the challenges that the LGBTQ+ community has faced, while also celebrating moments of joy and positive news. Here are 10 pieces of good news for the LGBTQ+ community to start your Pride Month off with a smile:
